1. Cut, peel and core the apple. Cut into 12-14 small cubes.

2. Toss cubes of apples in flour and place to one side.

3. Divide the sausage meat into however many cubes you cut of apple. Shape each portion around a cube of floured apple, making sure the apple is completely covered. Then shape into a ball.

4. Dip each ball into the beaten egg,then coat with breadcrumbs.

5. Heat the cooking oil in a frying pan and gently fry the balls for approximately 8-10 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.

Serve hot or cold.
